If you have ever tried to make a change in your life, and struggled to stick with it – then this program is for you. You’ll be introduced to an approach to change that helps you uncover the barriers that keep you stuck. You’ll become aware of the barriers preventing you from making an important and significant change in your life, as well as gain insight on making process to overturn these barriers.

This approach, Overturning Our Immunity to Change, is based on more than 30 years of research by Harvard Faculty members, Bob Kegan and Lisa Lahey.

Unlock Capacity | Make Change Stick

If you ask any group of people, “Raise your hand if you’ve ever made a New Year’s Resolution,” it is always the same – nearly every hand will go up. When you follow-up with: “Keep your hand raised if you’ve stuck with it, for a week, two weeks, a month, six months,…” most hands are down by the time you get to a month.  Most resolutions are not that hard to implement – getting fit, spending more time with family, losing weight – are all possible. The unsolved problem isn’t really about “the how to,” but instead it is about “how to stick with it.”

The same can be said for “leadership resolutions” Year after year, leaders identify an individual goal to become more effective. You’ve heard them – “stop micromanaging,” “listen more,” or “build stronger relationships.” And, like most resolutions, most leaders are successful initially, but inevitably fall back to their old ways of doing things.

Being able to do what you intend is not a lack of discipline, as we are often taught. Neither is it that the carrot or stick weren’t powerful enough motivators. This workshop will teach you about the often deeply hidden barriers that keep you from reaching your long-term goals. With the new awareness and tools you gain in this workshop, you will begin to make concrete and meaningful progress toward realizing your personal development goals.  In this session you will,

  • Experience the process of diagnosing why we are immune to changing things in our life
  • Explore the crucial relationship between the hidden commitments and big assumptions that construct our immunity to change
  • Understand the pathway to help us overturn our immunity to change and seize the opportunity to further our own development
